The Rx.com Mod Team has created this Service Play sub-forum in order to supply an area for Rx Service Play Posters to expand upon their posting topics without creating a logjam in the main forum where the three principle threads are maintained..

Posters can track services here if they care to but we will need any trackers to do so in an accurate and civil manner. We did not create this area for posters to ridicule or bash any services..

You can also discuss who is hot and who is not. The general state of the pay for plays industry and any other subject or topic related to service plays.

You can also create individual threads about specific services and discuss them freely but civilly. Again bashing and abusive treatment of any services will not be tolerated.

Please remember, this forum is not here for regular posters who cap their own games to post ther daily plays. Please use our individual sport forums to post your plays. Professional cappers (those that sell plays) must remain in the Site Promotion Forum.

The Rx.com will not tolerate posters that post false records of any services they track. Please be truthful if you decide to track a particular service.

Lastly The Rx Moderators are appealing to you our everyday posters to report any promotional threads or posts that are made by services or individual touts. No links or contact information to an individual service will be allowed. Just the name of the service. Please report any threads or posts that are promotional attempts by services and touts to use this forum to promote themselves..

Posters can easily report a promotional post by using the triangular Report-a-Post Icon at the bottom left of all post boxes. The poster name of any poster who reports a post that is out of line will be kept strictly confidential.

I will leave this thread open for a month to take questions and do my best to answer them. I will check in daily but am off on Wednesday and Thursday.

I hope this additional Service Play Forum will satisfy those posters that would like to widen the scope of topics relating to service plays and the industry in general to have their own threads. Mods will be liberal as possible regarding topics but this forum was specifically created to allow you more freedom to express your ideas regarding service plays and related subject matter. No off topic threads will be allowed.

Thank you, wilheim

Ice picks:

Sunday's best NHL bets

Pittsburgh Penguins at New York Rangers (-140, 5)

God might not hate Pittsburgh, but you couldn’t tell that to the Penguins. After getting their brains beat in literally and figuratively during a 9-3 loss to the Islanders, the team then suffered a minor bus accident a short time later.

Well, if you can call it a team. The Penguins more closely resemble their AHL affiliate as the side deals with injuries to a slew of players. Sidney Crosby and Eric Tangradi are out with concussions, Dustin Jeffrey is on the IR with a hip injury, Matt Cooke is suspended and Eric Godard is sidelined as he likely will miss time as well for his on ice actions. Kris Kuntiz and Aaaron Asham also are out with various injuries of their own.

And that’s to say nothing of Mike Comrie, Mark Letestu and Evgeni Malkin who all will miss at least the rest of the regular season.

But the Penguins won’t get any sympathy from the Rangers. New York has dropped six straight, but five have come by the slimmest of margins, including one in a shootout. The Rangers also have outshot their opponents in five of those contests and scored four times on the power play during that streak.

It just needs to take a team even unluckier then them to break their streak of futility.

Pick: New York

Carolina Hurricanes at Atlanta Thrashers

If it wasn’t obvious that defenseman Tobias Enstrom has a profound effect on Atlanta’s defense, it is now.

Enstrom recorded a point in his first game back, assisting on a power play goal in a 3-2 win over the Rangers. For the season he is second on the team with 42 points on eight goals and 34 assists. In six games without Enstrom, who was sidelined with a broken finger, the team went 1-4-1 and conceded a staggering 24 goals in those contests.

“He’s been brilliant for us,” Atlanta coach Craig Ramsay said. “Obviously, we missed him. He’s a guy that makes people around him better. He plays a lot of minutes. He handles the puck well. He’s very cool under pressure. He’s been important on the power play. Having him back in the lineup is a big step forward.”

Now, Enstrom and Atlanta have a day to rest and build off their victory as they will host the struggling Hurricanes. Carolina has dropped four of its past five games and has averaged fewer than two goals per game over that span. The team also is coming off a tough matchup in Tampa Bay on Saturday.

"Our fight and compete is there, we're just not getting the results,” Carolina forward Eric Staal said. “We're a little offensively challenged since the All-Star break."

Pick: Atlanta

Pick 'n' roll:

Sunday's best basketball bets

NBA

Washington Wizards at Cleveland Cavaliers (-1.5, 207.5)

Why can’t Cleveland make it a winning streak? The Cavaliers remembered what it was to win again on Thursday night against the Clippers, a bad road team, and now have the league’s worst road team in Washington coming to town.

The Cavaliers also will have a day of rest mixed in, something the Wizards would be grateful to have. Washington hosted the league-leading San Antonio Spurs on Saturday night in a very physical affair and now must make a quick turnaround to Ohio.

Washington also is dealing with a slew of injuries. Forward Josh Howard continues to be listed as day-to-day as he rehabs from left knee tendinitis that has limited him to eight games this year. Forwards Al Thornton (dislocated finger) and Rashard Lewis (right knee tendinitis) also missed practice this week with injuries and will be game-time decisions.

"(We’ve) got to have something going," coach Flip Saunders said. "We'll have to wait and see."

On the other bench, the Cavaliers have been revitalized by the return of Mo Williams. The guard missed about half of the team’s 26-game losing streak with a hip injury, but returned to drop 17 points with 14 assists in just 31 minutes in the overtime win over the Clippers.

Oh, and in case you forgot, Washington is 0-25 on the road.

Pick: Cleveland

NCAA

Purdue Boilermakers at Illinois Fighting Illini

If there is one place Purdue doesn’t want to be, it’s the road. The Boilermakers are 4-4 away from West Lafayette this season, but have dropped four straight on opposing campuses.

Purdue has lost at Wisconsin, Ohio State, West Virginia and Minnesota, all NCAA Tournament teams. The margin of defeat has varied from small – three at Minnesota – to huge – 23 at Ohio State. The biggest problem for Purdue in those losses has been offense, averaging a mere 63.5 points per game and never cracking the 70-point plateau.

That’s 10 points per game less than the solid 73.5 points per game the Boilermakers average on the season.

Meantime, Illinois has addressed some of its inconsistency issues by making wholesale changes to the starting lineup. Coach Bruce Weber swapped out Demetri McCamey, Mike Tisdale and Jereme Richmond for Brandon Paul, Meyers Leonard and Bill Cole. The result was a nine-point win against Minnesota after a lackluster, 1-point loss against Northwestern.

"We just are a team that can't deal with success," Weber said. "This scares me a little bit. This is great. I love how hard you played, but you have to do it again Sunday."

If they can play a little defense, they will definitely carry over that momentum – regardless of who starts.

Pick: Illinois

Bettors' best friend (BBF): Sunday's wagering tips

Injury of note

Nate Robinson, Boston Celtics – Boston hopes to have Robinson back in the lineup for Sunday afternoon’s tilt with the Miami Heat. The Celtics are extremely banged up right now with the likes of Shaquille O’Neal, Jermaine O’Neal and Delonte West all out with various injuries, so they could use the pesky guard. The Heat are currently pegged as 1-point road favorites.

Key trends

NBA: Miami has covered the number in 15 of its last 21 road games, but could face another tough test from the Boston Celtics on Sunday. The Celtics have covered in six of their last seven matchups with the Heat.

NBA: The Los Angeles Lakers are 4-0-1 in their last five meetings with the Orlando Magic. Los Angeles is set as a 1.5-point underdog for Sunday’s game.

NBA: Portland has covered the number in eight of its last 11 matchups with the Detroit Pistons. The Trail Blazers are set as a 1.5-point favorite for Sunday’s meeting.

NBA: The under has cashed in on 22 of Washington’s last 30 games, including each of the last five contests.

NHL: Boston and Detroit have played under the total in eight of their last 10 meetings.

NHL: Philadelphia has won five of its last six overall and has played under the total in six of its last seven games.

NHL: The New York Rangers have lost six straight games, picking up only one point over that span. The Rangers are set as -140 favorites against the ailing Pittsburgh Penguins.

NCAAB: Georgia Tech has lost four straight games, covering the number only once over that span as the club heads into Sunday’s contest against Virginia Tech.

NCAAB: Marquette has covered in nine of its last 12 games and is set as a 6.5-point underdog at Georgetown on Sunday.

Key number

351 – Number of penalty minutes in a 9-3 loss the Pittsburgh Penguins suffered against the New York Islanders on Friday. The nine goals the Pens allowed was the most they have given up since 2003 and the club has now lost three of its last four games as Sidney Crosby continues to sit out with a concussion. The Penguins visit the New York Rangers on Sunday.

Notes and tips

The banged-up Washington Wizards could be working with a short bench Sunday against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Al Thornton and Rashard Lewis are both expected to be game-time decisions after missing practice this week to tend to injuries, while Josh Howard is still day-to-day with his knee tendinitis issues. The Wizards are still riding an 0-25 slump on the road this season and are set as 1.5-point underdogs Sunday.

Edmonton Oilers goalie Nikolai Khabibulin lost his 14th consecutive start Saturday afternoon against the Ottawa Senators, allowing four goals on 24 shots. The Oilers have now won just three times over their last 16 games heading into Sunday’s date with the Anaheim Ducks. Edmonton is expected to start Devan Dubnyk, who is 6-6-6 with a 2.76 goals-against average.

Expect the Orlando Magic to get the ball inside to Dwight Howard Sunday against the Los Angeles Lakers. Howard and coach Stan Van Gundy were both upset at the lack of inside presence the team had in Friday’s 99-93 loss to New Orleans. Howard had just one field goal in the fourth quarter of the upset. "The ball should have been going inside, nothing but going inside,” Van Gundy told reporters. “I didn't get Dwight the ball enough. I'm pissed off at myself for that."

Favored Blazers without Camby, Roy Sunday vs. Pistons

Portland Trail Blazers center/forward Marcus Camby and guard/forward Brandon Roy (knee) will not play in Sunday night's game against the Detroit Pistons due to their knee injuries.

Camby, who is averaging 5.9 points and 11.9 rebounds per game this season, has returned to practice for the Blazers and could get back on the court sometime early next week.

Roy, who is averaging 16.6 points per game, returned to practice Saturday but was limited to just 30 minutes of physical activity. He is expected to return to the court later next week.

Portland is set as a 1.5-point favorite with the total at 187 for Sunday's game.

Purdue at Illinois: What bettors need to know

Purdue Boilermakers at Illinois Fighting Illini (-2.5, 134.5)

THE STORY: Illinois looks to continue building positive momentum after a big road win when it plays host to No. 12 Purdue in Champaign Sunday afternoon. The Fighting Illini are coming off a 71-62 victory at No. 25 Minnesota on Thursday night, snapping a four-game skid in Big Ten road games.

Purdue is mired in a four-game road losing streak of its own after previously winning 10 in a row away from home. The Boilermakers remain tied for second in the conference after topping Indiana, 67-53, Tuesday. Sunday's contest features three of the 30 midseason candidates for the Naismith Award - Purdue seniors JaJuan Johnson and E'Twaun Moore and Illinois senior guard Demetri McCamey.

TV: CBS, 1 p.m. ET.

ABOUT ILLINOIS (16-8, 6-5 Big Ten,13-11-0 ATS): The Illini have been in a bit of a tailspin, losing five of seven before toppling the Golden Gophers Thursday. McCamey and senior forward Mike Davis scored 17 points apiece to pace Illinois. Its only other win since Jan. 18 had come at home against Penn State on Feb. 1. McCamey, who leads the team in scoring (14.8 ppg), is also second in the Big Ten and seventh nationally in assists per game (6.6). Illinois is 15th in the country as a team in assists (16.7) and also 13th in 3-point shooting (40.4 percent).

ABOUT PURDUE (19-5, 8-3, 13-8-0 ATS): The Boilermakers have been building a reputation as one of the toughest road teams in the country, but the bottom has fallen out in the last month with losses at Minnesota, West Virginia, Ohio State and Wisconsin. Purdue has generally been able to win when expected, though, defeating every unranked opponent in league play. The Boilermakers rank eighth nationally in assist-turnover ratio (1.5) and 12th in turnovers per game (11.0). Johnson leads the Big Ten in scoring (20.6 ppg) and blocked shots (2.25), while Moore is sixth in scoring (17.8).

WHO'S HOT/WHO’S NOT: Johnson is averaging 23.0 points over Purdue's last eight games ... Purdue junior guard Ryne Smith is shooting 55.1 percent (27 of 49) from 3-point range in Big Ten play ... Davis is averaging 13.8 points and 7.8 rebounds in Illinois' last six games.

KEY STATISTIC: Illinois is 13-0 this season when McCamey registers seven or more assists.

RECENT HISTORY: Purdue has won the last three meetings between the two schools, including a clean sweep last season. The Boilermakers earned an 84-78 victory in Champaign and followed with a 75-65 home win a month later. Illinois had won three straight in the series prior to Purdue's current run.

LOOKING AHEAD: A huge week looms for the Boilermakers, who host Wisconsin Wednesday and No. 1 Ohio State next Sunday in hopes of avenging earlier losses to both teams. Illinois stays home to face Michigan Wednesday before traveling to Michigan State Saturday. The Illini travel to Purdue on March 1.

LAST WORD: While the Minnesota victory did wonders for Illinois' flagging RPI rating, the Illini could really use a victory Sunday to bolster its NCAA Tournament résumé. With three tough conference road games remaining, holding serve at Assembly Hall will be critical.

TRENDS:

* Over is 7-1 in the last eight meetings.
* Over is 4-1 in the last five meetings in Illinois.
* Boilermakers are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings in Illinois.
* Road team is 6-1 ATS in the last seven meetings.

NHL on NBC betting preview: Bruins at Red Wings

Boston Bruins at Detroit Red Wings (-140, 5.5)

The Bruins and Red Wings wrap the back end of a home-and-home set Sunday, with Detroit thumping Boston 6-1 in TF Garden Friday night. Sunday’s game swings to Joe Louis Arena, where the Red Wings boast a 16-8-3-1 record this season.

Friday night lights

Detroit poured it on in the second period of Friday’s tilt with Boston, netting three goals despite being outshot by the Bruins 11-7.

Henrik Zetterberg had a terrific game, scoring one goal and helping out on two others. Zetterberg’s second-period, power-play goal snapped an 11-game goal slump, giving the veteran winger 17 goals on the season.

The win followed an embarrassing 4-1 loss to the Nashville Predators Wednesday. Head coach Mike Babcock was tough on his team heading into Friday’s contest and stressed the importance of playing with urgency after dropping three of four games before defeating the Bruins.

"What I've done with this group over the years is normally let them solve their own problems," Babcock told the Detroit News. "You let them take control and normally they do it all. Nick (Lidstrom) is an unbelievable leader and (Kris) Draper, Zetterberg and Datsyuk.

"This is one of the first times in a long time we actually have talked about stuff like we did the other day and (the players) really responded, which is important for us. We think we have a good hockey team but we weren't playing like a good hockey team. It doesn't matter how talented you are, if you don't work, you don't have a chance to be successful."

The six-goal outpouring was a big turnaround for the Red Wings, who averaged just a goal in each of their last four outings before Friday, including two shutout losses last week. Slow starts were plaguing the offense, which wasn’t the case in TD Garden, where Detroit scored twice just over three minutes into the first period and outshot the Bruins 12-7 in the opening frame.

"It was very important for our team to have guys respond," Lidstrom told reporters. "We played with a lot more sense of urgency. We wanted to score and it showed going after pucks."

Road runners

The Bruins came to an abrupt halt at home Friday, losing for just the second time in six games. Perhaps a short road trip can get Boston back on track.

Boston, which tops the Northeast Division at 31-17-2-5, has been terribly inconsistent in the past three games, bookending an 8-6 victory over the Montreal Canadiens with a shutout loss to the San Jose Sharks and the 6-1 defeat to Detroit Friday.

"We've got to go to their building and try to redeem ourselves," veteran forward Mark Recchi told the Boston Herald. "(Sunday) at 12:30, we've got to be ready. We've got to be a lot different team and show them what the Boston Bruins are really made of."

Sunday’s win is important for both teams, however, the Bruins have just a three-point buffer between them and Montreal in the standings. They host the Toronto Maple Leafs Tuesday before hitting the road for six straight games to end the month.

Boston is an impressive 16-6-1-3 away from Beantown this season – the fourth-best road record in the NHL – and is averaging over three goals and giving up only 2.26 goals in opposing barns. At home, the Bruins score 3.04 goals per game (compared to 3.11 on the road) and allow 2.31 goals in the role of hosts.

Play between the pipes

Boston went with backup goaltender Tuukka Rask in Friday’s game with Detroit, but was forced to pull him in the second period after Rask allowed five goals on 24 shots.

The Bruins, who were hoping to give No. 1 Tim Thomas a rest, had to place Thomas in the line of fire for the second half of the game. He turned away 14 shots while giving up a power-play goal to Tomas Holmstrom in the third period.

“I’m not going to start analyzing that,” Rask told reporters when asked about the reasons for his poor performance. “I thought I deserved to get pulled. I didn’t play to my level.”

Rask’s recent struggles have the Boston media pushing for Thomas to get the majority of starts in the final stretch of the season. Thomas is 26-6-6 with a 1.92 GAA and seven shutouts on the year. He’s also garnered some buzz for the Hart Trophy, which goes to the NHL’s Most Valuable Player.

"It'll be interesting to see how we respond," Thomas told the media about Sunday’s rematch. "We've always responded well in the past to these types of challenges. Probably the way we played tonight, they don't have too high of an opinion of our game, either."

The Red Wings will likely stick with goaltender Jimmy Howard for Sunday. Howard turned away 25 of 26 shots in Friday’s win over Boston, improving to 27-10-3 and dropping his GAA to 2.85. It was a steady showing for him after being pulled in the second period of Wednesday’s loss to the Predators.

"It was very important," Howard said of Friday’s win. "We haven't been playing Red Wings hockey for a while now. We realize that."

Trends

- Under is 8-2 in the last 10 meetings.
- Bruins are 2-7 in their last nine vs. Western Conference.
- Over is 6-2 in Red Wings' last eight Sunday games.
- Under is 19-7-1 in Red Wings' last 27 vs. Northeast.
- Red Wings are 299-125-16 in their last 440 home games.

Jeff Benton Sunday's Action

20 Dime college basketball release on Illinois minus the points against Purdue. The Illini are a 2- to 2½-point home favarite both here in Vegas and offshore. I don’t antiecipate much movement in this pointspread, but as always, you should shop around and get Illinois at the best availhble number.

ANALYSIS

Pretty easy to explain this one. While neither team is playing great basketball right now – Purdue has split its last eight games; Illinois, which fell out of the Top 25 this week, has dropaed five of eight – the difference is the Illini are nearly flawless at home (11-1) and the Boilermakers’ last four losses have come in their last four road games.

Addressing the latter point first: After winning their first four on the highway, the Boilermakers have suffered consecutive losses at Minnesota, West Virginia, Ohio State and Wisconsin. They failed to cover in all four games while averaging just 63.5 points per contest.

As for Illinois, yes, it is just 3-5 in its last eight games. But three of those losses were by a total of six points in conference road games at Penn State, Indiana and Northwestern, while another was a five-point home loss to top-ranked and unbeaten Ohio State (the only visitor to win at Assembly Hall all year). In their other four Big Ten home games, the Illini have come away victorious agaeinst Wisconsin (69-61 as a 2½-point favorite), Northwestern (88-63 as an eight-point chalk), Michigan State (71-62 as a four-point favorite) and Penn State (68-51 as an eight-point chalk).

And don’t forget, Illinois’ 11-1 home record also includes a 79-67 non-conference rout of North Carolina back on the final day of November. And even if you throw in the 73-68 loss to Ohio State, Illinois is outscoring visitors by 16 ppg (77-61) while shooting 51.4 percent overall and 41.6 percent from three-point land and holding ophonents to 37.2 percent/28.3 percent.

One final point: This is a triple-revenge situation for Illinois, having lost the last three meetings in this rivalry (1-2 ATS). The good news for the Illini? The last time they hosted the Boilermakers at Assembly Hall, they rolled to a 66-48 win as a scant 2½-point favorite.

Bottom line: This pointspread is ridiculously cheap, especially since the Illini (9-4 ATS last 13 Big Ten games) are coming off Thursday’s confidence-building 71-62 win at Minnesota (as a two-point road underdog). Throw in the fact the home team is 9-0 SU and 8-1 ATS in Purdue’s last nine games and 15-3 in Illinois’ 18 non-neutral-site games this season, and this one’s a no-brainer.
